Established in the year 1993, Mandovi Dry Docks has become one of the most widely respected full-service ship yard in Goa.

Situated at the bank of the river Mandovi, the dockyard is strategically located to service the repair, modification and new build needs of its customers.

On completing his Mechanical Engineering in 1969, Mr. Prabhakar Sawant moved full steam ahead to navigate the course of his career by surveying the sea of job opportunities before him. After logging in impressive credentials – he served in the private sector as well as the defence yard in Goa – he turned captain of his own vessel in 1981 and launched Atreya Engineering Works, a barge repair workshop. His secret dream of setting up his own shipyard was more than a mere ripple by now; he knew his steady resolve and willingness to dive in and even swim against the tide would help him to achieve his goal. His far-sighted vision enabled him to hoist his sail when the wind was fair and with the setting afloat of Mandovi Dry Docks in 1993, not only was his long cherished dream transformed into a reality but he found himself riding the wave of success.

From the inception of Mandovi dry docks in 1993 the Company’s philosophy has revolved around its commitment to giving its clients an optimum level of service that incorporates a highly competitive rates structure combined to an enviable service ethic. These two key factors combined with the founder’s unquestionable integrity, has enabled Mandovi dry docks to consistently expand.

AAfter taking up several major and minor repairs the company successfully entered into manufacturing of vessels. Within a very short span, Mandovi dry docks have established an enviable reputation for its ability to construct and deliver vessels meeting a wide variety of end uses. Of equal significance has been the Company's ability to attract, hold and develop a highly skilled and dedicated workforce, for its repairs and manufacturing projects.
